ChatGPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) is a mind blowing app and it’s going to change the world. It was developed on 30th November 2022. It is a natural language processing (NLP) trained model developed by OpenAI. You might recognize them as the people that also made DALL-E and it was also co-founded by Elon Musk.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a trained machine learning app to understand and respond to human inputs in a conversational way. In other words you give this thing a prompt like questions, essays, how-to, write a program, etc. and it will give you the solution to it.
This NLP model uses deep leaning to produce human-like texts. It is made of OpenAI’s 3.5-GPT family that has large language models and it has two machine learning techniques namely supervised and reinforcement learning.
Working of ChatGPT
The initilisation of ChatGPT is to collect the demonstated data and train them in supervised policy. We have a prompt that is actually sampled from our prompt dataset. The labeler then frames the output that is actually needed. The data that is used is GPT-3.5 with supervised learning.
In the second step the comparison data is collected and the reward model is trained. The prompt and other models outputs are sampled followed b labeler will rank the outputs from best to worst. Then the following data is used to train our reward model.
In the last phase the policy against the reward model is optimized using the PPO reinformcement learning algorithm. The new prompt s samled from the dataset. The PPO model is initialized from the supervised policy and then generated the output. The reward model calculates a reward for the output and at last the reward is updated using PPO.
Advantages of ChatGPT

- It has the ability to generate human-like texts because it is made with deep learning.
- It can customize itself for anything you want, be it an essay, an article, questions, how-to, write a program, etc.
- It is vert efficient and fast. It gives a whole paragraph is a proper format in seconds.
- It is very easy to use.
- Remebers what users have asked or searched earlier and at the same time creates a good headline.
- It allows the users to provide follow-up corrections.
- It is trained to decline any abusive, inappropriate requests asked by the users.
Disadvantages of ChatGPT
As earlier discussed ChatGPT has numerious advantages but on the other hand it has it’s own disadvantages also which are as follows:
- It has limited understanding of the context.
- It has limited information about anything that has been stored till 2021.
- It is totally depenedent on Training data
- Sometimes it can generate incorrect information.
- It is pron to give some incorrect content or instructions also.
Can ChatGPT replace Human Job or Google?
It’s a big ‘NO’, it cannot replace Humans Job or Google. As it is totally dependent on training data. It still has many bugs and at the same time gives wrong information or you can say incomplete information. It has very less understanding of the content. You can use this only for some small purposes and not to be whole dependent on it because still it is a machine created by us.
